Visiting Arizona State University during the recent ACE Conference was an incredible experience. As the Dean of E.T. Yuchengco School of Business in Mapúa University, I was privileged to witness first-hand the incredible teaching and learning practices in place at this award-winning institution.
One of the most significant benefits of adopting the best practices I observed at Arizona State University would be the potential to improve the quality of education at our own institution. The curriculum content that we can readily adopt and adapt is amazing. The emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and research-based learning was particularly noteworthy. By incorporating these practices into our own curriculum and pedagogy, we could create a more dynamic and engaging learning experience for our students here at E.T. Yuchengco School of Business. Besides, our students too will have the opportunity to visit and study at Arizona State University.
Additionally, I was impressed by the university's use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. The incorporation of virtual reality into the curriculum was particularly innovative, allowing students to explore faraway places and complex systems in a way that was not previously possible. For example, by adopting and participating in the Masterclass series and Global Signature Classes, we could offer our students a cutting-edge education that prepares them not just for today's workforce, but for the jobs of tomorrow.
Overall, I left Arizona State University feeling inspired and energized, and eager to begin implementing some of the best practices I observed there. I am confident that by doing so, we can create a more engaging and dynamic learning environment for our students at E.T. Yuchengco School of Business, and better prepare them for success in an ever-changing world.
